Melton 195 L Fafner in B 4 valves
Melton 195 L Fafner in Bb 4 valves tuba, lacquered brass
Melton 's contrabass Bb tuba No. 195, model 'Fafner', is a natural phenomenon in terms of sound!
With the 'Fafner' model No. 195 from Melton, the Geretsried-based brass instrument manufacturer Wenzel Meinl GmbH, part of the TA Musik Group, aims to set a new standard in the field of orchestral instruments. The company already achieved this in the 1960s with its well-known 4/4 Bb tuba model No. 25, which was so often copied by competitors in terms of construction and design. Now, Wenzel's new 5/4 Bb tuba model Meinl is once again set to lead the way on the market. It is a completely new concept with entirely new cuts and a new bell shape.
The best materials ensure the longevity of the instrument. Above all, the durable and maintenance-free cylinder valves represent the high standard of precision. In addition, all tubas are equipped as standard with the proven spring-loaded 3B joint system with bronze-bearing steel ball. The valve slides are positioned upwards so that they are easy to pull even while playing. This also prevents water from accumulating in the instrument.
